I have a slipped disc and take the vicodin for the pain, neurontin for the nerve inflammation, skelaxin as a muscle relaxant, and ambien because I have trouble sleeping. I have already discussed this with my doctor and my pharmacist. The ambien, neurontin and vicodin are all supposed to make me sleepy, but it takes as much as 2-4 hours to take effect and sometimes I can’t stay asleep when I finally do fall asleep. My family doctor is who prescribed my medication and he knows exactly what medication I am taking.
