Can anyone tell me if the medication Neurontin/Gabapentin is used for treating Migraines?

My doctor prescribed Neurontin along with my blood pressure medication (Methyldopa, or Aldomet), in order to control or reduce my migraines. I have read different facts on what Neurontin is used for, but have not read anything about migraines. Thanks for any input.
